Accessibility statement
This statement applies to the Echo Hearing website. It explains how accessible the site is, what we have done to make it easier to use and how to contact us if something does not work for you.
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to find information, book an appointment and contact us, whatever their abilities and whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Accessibility is part of how we design and update the site, not something we check once. If you find a barrier, we want to hear about it.
Conformance status
Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We believe the site partially meets this standard: most content meets it, with the exceptions listed under Known limitations.
What we have done
Text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute to be easier to read for people with low vision.
We checked color contrast in all three color themes: body text reaches at least 4.5:1 against its background.
Every link, button, menu and form field can be used with a keyboard, in a logical order.
A visible focus indicator shows which element is selected when you use a keyboard.
We test key pages and the booking form with the NVDA screen reader on Windows.
The site respects the reduced motion setting on your device and turns off transitions when you ask for less motion.
Pages use clear headings, landmarks and a “Skip to main content” link, and form fields have visible labels and clear error messages.
Known limitations
We know about the following issues and are working to fix them:
Lists of hearing concerns, services and team members are not marked up as HTML lists, so screen readers do not announce how many items there are.
After you send the booking form, some screen readers may not announce the confirmation message. If you are not sure your request was sent, please text or email us.
The map on the contact page is an image and cannot be explored with assistive technology. The full address and directions are available as text on the same page.
